jazz fest: Ottawa After Dark
This was our first night at the Ottawa After Dark Series, and the Belleville Orchestra was performing on stage. The orchestra consisted of 7 musicians, who played wacky 1930s-inspired French tunes while the animated movie, The Triplets of Belleville played in the background. This was pretty cool in itself, as the film was well-known for its award winning soundtrack. And of course, after the show, we had to take a few snaps of our #OOTN (that’s outfit of the night, for you non-Instagrammers). opening night: Ottawa jazz festival
The Ottawa Jazz Festival is a week-long event where some jazz heavy hitters as well as Indie bands come and turn our city into a hub of culture and music. Thursday evening was the opening night, and we were given awesome VIP passes to watch in style, as The Heavy and Dr. John & The Nite Trippers performed on stage. It was pretty cool to be sipping on cold #OttawaAfterDark beers (yes, a beer named after a hashtag!) and canapΓ©s amongst serious jazz appreciators, decked out in feathered fedoras and tinted sunglasses.
