The season of glitter: With Express

Dare I say it? The holidays are upon us. Well perhaps I’m pressing the fast forward button, but in my calendar, once November rolls around, I’m very happily in the festive spirit. Living far from home, the holidays mean getting time off work to see my family, annual reunions with friends from university, and having an uninterrupted week of relaxation. So needless to say, I really look forward to the holidays.

And yes, I am one of those that put up the tree mid November, and secretly smiles as Michael Buble’s Christmas album oozes through my ear buds.

But all that aside, I also love getting dressed up for the holidays. Between work Christmas parties and festive nights out with friends, this is the time of year to really have fun with your outfits! I’m talking lace, sequined dresses, and everything that sparkles.

I immediately fell head-over-heels for this two-piece, metallic crop top and skirt from Express. The peek-a-boo cutout under the bust, combined with the shoulder-bearing neckline is the perfect combination of sexy and flirty. The high-waisted skirt is also incredibly flattering, and sits just high enough to expose a little midriff.

Aside from wearing this two-piece together (which you definitely must!), I’ve already paired the croptop with loose, high-waisted pants; and the skirt with a basic, black turtleneck. Who says metallics can’t be work everyday? ‘Cause you know me, all about that versatility.
