H&M launch in Ottawa

October 17th marks a highly-anticipated day for Ottawa fashion lovers — at noon, the H&M at Bayshore Shopping Centre will finally be opening its doors to the public!

The sweater and dress we are wearing were generously gifted to us from H&M. We were so excited to wear our new treasures, that we went out to shoot for this blog post the very same day!

The giant 22 120 square foot store will bring H&M’s full collections to Ottawa, including mens, ladies, kids, accessories, and sportswear. Although we were excited just at the fact that we wouldn’t have to haul our butts to Toronto or Montreal to get our H&M fix, we were even more excited to learn that Ottawa would be getting the full H&M experience. A full-sized store, with complete collections and no missing pieces.

Since H&M is best known for fashion at a modest price, you know that the city’s most stylish (yet smart shoppers!) will be there on opening day, trying to get first dibs on the hottest pieces.

With us finally getting real fall weather, we were also excited to hear about the trends we could expect hitting H&M racks this season. For the ladies, you can expect a tomboy and bohemian theme, with leather, faux fur, and jersey accents. We’re also falling head-over-heels for their minimalistic collection, which features looser fits and dramatic silhouettes.

For the gents, layering with different textures and modern tailoring are key. Look out for lots of knits and blazers! And for those with little fashionistas? As always, the kids line will be comfortable yet stylish.
