feeling blue

We did it again. After getting ready for a lunch date this morning, we were walking to the market and looked at each other and had to laugh. Both sporting cobalt blue, we had coordinated our outfits without even realizing it. Funny enough, this tends to happen pretty often. We seriously didn’t mind this time though, as this shade of blue is definitely one of our favourite hues from this past season.

From her | This blazer was actually one of my finds from our last thrifting adventure. Its not quite the perfect fit, so I decided to wear it draped over my shoulders, à la Kate Middleton style (as CJ calls it). My LBD and high bun kept my look pretty classic, but my statement necklace and faux-garter tights kept my outfit from being just a little black dress. This necklace is seriously becoming one of my favourite pieces! I’m definitely a necklace girl, so this statement piece, with its dangling layers of beads, is quickly finding many ways to be incorporated into my outfits.

From him | Now that we’ve seen the worst of winter (finger’s crossed, here) it’s time to start thinking about spring. And not just brighter colours, but outerwear choices as well. As it gets milder outside, start thinking about ways you can ditch your bulky winter parka. A great way to do so is layering a puffy vest on top of a knit sweater. Not only will this keep you warm, but you’ll look cool while doing it.
