Art scarves ft. Mitandio

Simplicity is something that we’ve really come to embrace, and it’s refreshing. Simple and understated pieces mean that there are no bells and whistles, and that the quality and craftsmanship of each item is at the forefront. While I think that there is a time and place for statement pieces, I love how the fashion world is embracing minimalistic style and simplicity.

Scarves are the perfect accessories for the season. While mid-summer afternoons are hot and humid, mornings are still dewy and evenings are chilly. They can add a subtle pop of colour to your outfit, or complement what you’re wearing. They’re an accessory that doesn’t draw attention away from the woman wearing it, but instead, completes her look. They’re beautifully simple.

We’ve partnered with Mitandio, a luxury brand based out of Toronto. Mitandio is the vision of Jas and Ruku, two creative women who are fueled by their love of fashion and social awareness. Being world-travellers, and having a combined background in fashion, design, and business, we were smitten by the brand and the women behind it.

Aside from Mitandio’s story, the quality and beauty of the scarves speaks for itself. I’m wearing two pieces from the spring/summer collection, which features lightweight cotton and modal pieces. The fabric is incredibly soft and airy, and the each colour pops off the scarves with such vibrancy. When I unwrapped these pieces from their carefully folded packaging, I could immediately feel the quality in the fabric. I also love how they embraced colour without compromising the simplicity of the accessory, so that they could make even the simplest of outfits more beautiful.

There are so many ways to style scarves, they really are a timeless accessory. I’ve taken to wearing my Mitandio pieces in a faux infinity style, wrapped around my neck for a casual daytime look, or draped over my shoulders for chillier evenings. Because of the various colours, yet translucent construction of the scarves, I’ve found that they’ve worked for so many of my outfits.
