Holiday look book: ourMode, Magpie Jewellery, Town.

In early November, we partnered with two other local Ottawa brands, Magpie Jewellery and town. restaurant on Elgin, to create a Holiday Look Book project that oozed warmth and togetherness. We spent the better part of the afternoon up in Wakefield, Quebec, where we were actually greeted by the first snowfall of the season.

The concept of the shoot was cozy winter fashion, so we spent a lot of time curled up under tartan quilts and in front of bonfires. It made for some pretty glorious winter wonderland photos, and a holiday look book that we have to say, was pretty spot on.

We styled our outfits for the Holiday Lookbook, and every look was featuring pieces from Magpie Jewellery, including recognizable designers such as Lissa Bowie, Georg Jensen, and Anne Sportun, just to name a few.

Magpie being a local Ottawa brand, it was so fitting for the three of us to get together and share in the making of this project – so that we could all tap into our various networks and footprints that we have in the city, so that each brand could elevate and grow together.

Although we love Montreal, our hometown in Toronto, and everything big cities have to offer, Ottawa has such a strong sense of community, and is one of the reasons why we love our city. We’ve met so many genuine and down-to-earth people here, and these are people that have always been willing to extend a hand to help us out and make us feel welcome.

People have always asked us, “do you plan on moving back to Toronto?” Our default answer has always been yes, but a few weeks ago, we had a bit of a revelation. We love this city, and although we’ll likely migrate for a few years to pursue our careers and education,  we have a feeling that we might be calling Ottawa our home when the dust settles.
