On Tuesday, Target launched its first location in Ottawa at Billings Bridge Mall — and we there among the first to ring in the grand opening. On Monday morning, ourselves and a bunch of other local bloggers were invited to attend a private tour of the store. This was a pretty neat opportunity, as it allowed us to learn more about the company, and get an exclusive glimpse of what the store had to offer.
Before the actual opening on Tuesday morning, we were invited back to the mall for a blogger breakfast, where we were also each given a generous gift card to spend at Target.
These blogger events alone are awesome, because it gives us the chance to meet other bloggers in the city. The Ottawa-blogosphere is bigger than we thought! There were a few other fashion bloggers, but we also met some mama-bloggers, travel bloggers, and foodies. What always seems to catch us off guard in particular though, is meeting people that have been following our blog. Its so exciting yet humbling, to learn that people enjoy what we do!
When the doors officially opened, there was a mad dash to the Phillip Lim collection — all the purses were snagged within seconds. Being back on the work and school grind, we didn’t have a chance to stick around for too long, but we’re guessing that the clothes were snatched off the racks just as quickly!
From the huge fitting rooms, to the multiple registers, (not to mention the Starbucks right at the entrance!), the store itself was clearly designed for a great customer experience. Katherine left Target with a tweed Xhilaration shift dress, while CJ grabbed a plum-coloured Merona sweater.
We’re already looking forward to going back and snatching up some home decor and kitchen stuff. (CJ wants to add here that he’ll be found in the electronics section instead — typical guy, right?!)
